Archipel wins for Lebanese bank depositors at the Paris Court of Appeal

A landmark victory for French and EU-domiciled depositors in Lebanese banks.

As reported in Challenges (see here, in French), Archipel wins for Lebanese bank depositors at the Paris Court of Appeal. The Court confirms that funds unlawfully blocked in Lebanon must be paid in France (see here, in French). This is a landmark victory for French and EU-domiciled depositors in Lebanese banks, upholding the jurisdiction of the French courts and confirming that Lebanese banks must return the full value of their customers’ accounts in France, not in Lebanon.
