CAS 2025/A/11328: A win for women’s football and match agents
With the FIFA World Cup in full motion and a Women's World Cup on the horizon, the timing feels fitting for a victory of our own.
On 15 June 2026, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled in favour of our client, a licensed FIFA match agent who arranged two international women's friendly matches and was left unpaid; the federation claimed no written contract existed.
The CAS disagreed. Where an agent repeatedly requests a written contract and a federation refuses to sign one, it cannot later use that absence as a shield. You cannot manufacture a loophole and then hide behind it.
This case, led by our Counsel Panagiotis Kyriakou, reflects a broader issue: the FIFA Match Agents Regulations date back to 2003 and are overdue for reform. As women's football continues to grow, agents who help build its calendar deserve clear and enforceable protections. At Archipel, we are proud to contribute to this dialogue.
